Beautiful Photo Shows Female Orangutan Looking On In Fascination As Mother Breastfeeds Young Baby
This is the incredible moment that a female orangutan looked on in fascination as a mother breastfed her baby son at a zoo.
Elizabeth Hunt Burrett posted the heartwarming snap on Facebook, and explained how the orangutan watched on as she fed her 13-week old baby at Melbourne Zoo.
She wrote: ‘While celebrating my daughters 3rd birthday at the Melbourne Zoo my 13 week old got hungry while we were in the orangutan enclosure.
‘I took him into a quiet corner away from the crowd to feed, Then this happened….. This mummy came to investigate and she watched the whole feed.
‘It was the most beautiful thing!!!’
Unsurprisingly, the snap has since received a hugely positive reaction.
Jessie June wrote: ‘Proof that breastfeeding is as natural as it gets. Beautiful.’
But Elizabeth has since admitted that she wasn’t expecting quite the reaction to the photo.
She said: ‘I was so nervous!!’ When I posted this I thought I’d get maybe one or two likes lol.’
